Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based file format for rapid and easy content distribution. Poetry Daily offers an RSS “feed” that contains the title of our daily poem, the first few lines, and a link back to the full poem on our website.

Getting started with RSS
There are excellent dedicated RSS reader applications on all the major platforms. A fine way to locate these is to simply Google “RSS Applications Windows” or “RSS Applications Macintosh”. Alternatively you can use web-based news readers such as the Google Reader or Newsgator. These services allows you to access your favorite RSS feeds from any internet-connected computer. If you use the iGoogle custom home page, clicking the “Add to Google” link above will offer you the option of adding the Poetry Daily RSS feed either as a subscription in Google Reader or as a “gadget” on your custom home page.
